BTCCSquare news:

The Philippine government is advancing plans to leverage blockchain technology for greater transparency in national budget management. Department of Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Aguda confirmed development of a working prototype to demonstrate how distributed ledgers could make fiscal transactions publicly verifiable.

Lawmakers are concurrently pushing Senate Bill 1330, dubbed the Philippine National Budget Blockchain Act, which WOULD mandate all government branches to record budget allocations and contracts on-chain. The initiative draws inspiration from stablecoin tracking systems already under experimentation by the DICT for peso transactions.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. may soon receive an urgent certification request for the legislation, signaling potential accelerated adoption. If implemented, citizens would gain unprecedented visibility into bid processes, fund disbursements, and contractual agreements through an Immutable public ledger.
